After a traumatic event at a soccer match forces them into isolation, carol and Steve spend the following 14 months adapting to a way of life without much reliance on the world outside.

As radio, television, and telephone become available again, news of life returning to normal begins to circulate.

Feeling the fatigue of being cramped in small quarters for so long, Steve lowers his guard and accepts a call from a old friend, Chad.

Carol, upon learning of this call, becomes agitated. But, before she can convince Steve to stop communicating with people, a knock at the door interrupts an existence centered on caution and preparation.

Feeling pressure to let his old friend in, Steve and Carol allow Chad inside where they learned what’s happened to him since the event along with his plans for the future.
